Meet the animals

They're the best

The alpacas

Our alpacas are the soft-hearted soul of the animal sanctuary—gentle, curious, and endlessly charming. With their velvety coats, expressive eyes, and quiet grace, they bring a sense of calm to everyone who visits. Whether they’re grazing in the pasture, sunbathing in a fluffy pile, or cautiously approaching for a sniff, these sensitive herd animals remind us to slow down and stay present.

Each alpaca has its own personality, but as a group, they embody the sanctuary’s spirit: peaceful, playful, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the land. Guests often find themselves mesmerized by their quiet hums and the way they move in harmony—always watching, always wondering.

The chickens

Our chickens are the bustling, feathered heart of the farm—curious, social, and full of personality. From early morning clucks to sunset roosting rituals, they bring rhythm and charm to farm life. You’ll find them scratching in the lavender beds, dust-bathing under the trees, or following guests with hopeful eyes (especially if snacks are involved).

Each hen and rooster has their own quirks—some are bold and chatty, others shy and observant—but all are deeply loved and well cared for. Their eggs are as colorful as their characters, and their presence reminds us of the beauty in simple routines and the joy of community.

The llamas

Graceful, expressive, and full of personality, our llamas are a tightly knit family with a story as soulful as their eyes. Llamas are natural protectors, often watching over smaller animals with quiet vigilance. At our quiet rescue sanctuary, they embody resilience and gentleness, reminding us that strength can be expressed through calm care.

The turkeys

Our turkeys are more than just feathered friends—they’re full-fledged personalities with flair, curiosity, and a surprising sense of humor. With their proud struts, inquisitive gobbles, and undeniable charm, these five bring a playful energy to the farm that guests can’t help but fall in love with.

Each turkey has its own unique rhythm: some are bold and boisterous, others gentle and observant. You’ll often find them sunning their wings, chatting amongst themselves, or following visitors with a mix of curiosity and confidence.

Our turkeys remind us to walk tall, speak up, and never underestimate the power of a good strut.

The horses

Our horses are the heartbeat of the sanctuary—wise, intuitive, and deeply attuned to the energy around them. Each one brings a unique presence to the pasture, offering guests a chance to connect, reflect, and reset.

Together they embody the farms mission: healing through connection, presence, and the quiet power of animal companionship.

The goats

The farm resident comedians—clever, curious, and always up to something. Whether they’re climbing on logs, chasing sunbeams, or gently nudging guests for attention, our goats bring laughter and light wherever they go. Together, they remind us that joy is found in the little things: a shared snack, a sunny patch of grass, and the company of a good friend.

The emus

Emus are remarkable creatures: flightless birds with powerful legs, soft feathers, and a history as natural caretakers of the land. Here at Kyler Family Farm, they symbolize resilience and curiosity, teaching us to approach life with both strength and wonder.

Tall, curious, and full of personality, our emus are the gentle giants of the farm.

The sheep

Sheep play an important role in sustainable farming. Their annual shearing not only keeps them healthy and comfortable, but also provides a renewable fiber that can be transformed into yarn and textiles.  Our sheep are gentle, curious, and endlessly endearing. Each one has found refuge here after a journey of rescue, and now they graze peacefully in the safety of our pastures.
